Window World - Installation Review from Fresno, California
Fresno, Ca. Windows are sold to the business convenience and not what's best for the customers: they are cheaply made and contracted installation service sucks.
We wanted hung windows and salesman pushed for sliding vertical. Come to find out those are standard for the company, so anything else is special order. Company requested we remove all window covers and furniture away from walls. Since, I've learned other companies do that for their custumers!
Windows were ready for installation: contractor came with his team of 2 additional men who were late, and said it would take then 4-5 hours. Two hours later the contractor took one the two workers to do a measuring of another job, leaving one worker to finish installation of 12 windows. It took 10 hour to finish the job. Ten hours that we were hostage in our own house.
By that time we were exausted and just wanted them out of the house. We even had to provide products for window cleaning!!! In the following days the plastic treaming of the windows began to separate. Also, a part was not shipped withthe windows. We had to call the contractor to ask about the part and to discussed the vinal trimming problem.
The contractor said he would send a worker in a week: the evening before the worker was supposed to come to fix the problems we got a message the contractor needed to reschefuled because of another job!!!! What an insult!!! Bottom line: windows are cheaply made (visual and performance) and customer service SUCKS! I dont recommend this product, their salesman and certainly NOT THE INSTALLATION CONTRACTOR.
Maybe he is bitting more than he can chew and customers pay for it. Save money, time and aggravation- look somewhere else other than Window World.

Bait & Switch
We recently got a bid form WW to replace 38 windows based upon the advertised $249 low-e published rate. By the time the salesman got through with all of the "add-ons" for things like $30/window for removing your old window (who replaces windows without taking the old ones out?), $32 for beige vs white (clearly a ripoff), $100 Administrative Fee (talk about abusive pricing), $100 for a 2nd story fee, and on and on we ended up at $461 / window.
You can buy a REAL QUALITY window from Pella or Anderson for that price through the myriads of sales agents selling for them. Does "ripoff" mean anything here?

Horrible sales experience
I have owned my home now for about 10 years. Built in 1963 it came with the original wood windows. When i bought the home i knew it needed new more energy effiencient windows. So i started shopping, doing my research on internet and invited several companies out to my home to give me a free estimate. Out of 4 companies all but 1 didn't spend 3 hours with me. Window World of Harford only took about 45 minutes. That was the only good part about them. Louis was my sales rep; very nice guy; straight and to the point. Knew what he was talking about; no pressure. However the fun stops there.
Time to do the install. I am not trying to discriminate about companies who hire people covered in tattoos and piercings but when i asked a simple question about the installers " do they work for you? or are they sub contracted out. This is where i was lied to.
Asking the installer how long he worked for Window World and he told me 7 years. Lie number 1; asked him how long he been installing windows 10 years; lie number 2, asked him if he was contracted, licensed bonded and insured. He said yes. Asked him to see his license; he wouldn't show it to me.
Overall very happy with the windows, price and i hope Louis wasn't lying about the warranty. But if i could make one suggestion don't hire people who are going to lie about their credentials and how long they have been working in the industry. People who hire outsiders to do work on their home are not always so dumb. They might just not have the time to do the work themselves.
Thank you Concerned customer in Harford County.

A friend of ours bought windows from a company, only to find out they were out of business a few years later, so when he had issues he was stuck. He recommended we do our homework since he didn't, and he had to pay for having more than $3,000 in seal failures replaced by a glass company since the company was out of business.
We have 22 of their windows and they are great! The World of Windows salesman was knowledgeable, and he told us that since they are a franchise, one of over 200 across the country, that there would always be someone to take care of any warranty issues. Also, the World of Windows price was half the price of the two other window competitors that quoted our project. Two of the other competitors that came to our home we had to threaten to call the police to get them to leave after 3 long hours of their presentation followed by them trying to pressure us to sign their contract!
The work was completed by World of Windows on-time, and as promised. We have even had a seal failure in a window where it fogged up between the glass, which was fixed under warranty at no charge to us. Thanks for the recommendation from our friend Gregg to do our homework. The warranty will even transfer to someone else, if we ever sell our house.
What a great value. I don't know why you would buy windows from any other company, when these windows are so great and affordable. You could buy them twice from Window World, or World of Windows as they have to go by in Charlotte, for what the competitors charge. Our energy bills have gone down, and we only need blinds for privacy now.
You can barely feel the suns energy through the windows at the hottest time of the afternoon.
I usually don't read the b.s. that people put up here, but I saw this comment, and it is so different from our experience with them I had to say something. I guess flat tires do happen, as I have seen a few people broken down with them on the highway.
All I can say it they did a great job for us, and I would highly recommend them. I guess sometimes things go wrong, it isn't a perfect World after all, but it looks like they resolved your issue in the end, and you got an apology.
I called in December 2013 to get a sun porch window replaced that is suppose to have a lifetime warranty . I had to call again in February 2014.
Window is finally replaced May 7 but it is defected. The employee said he would report it & it would be about a week . Called yesterday ( June) & manager is never available to talk to me. My husband called (today) & she said it was on order & it should be in the next week or 2 .
( spoke of rain . What has rain got to do with putting windows on a truck and shipping them here ?) Same old blah , blah , I've heard since February.
My windows have been paid for so it's let's move on to next customer . Need better customer service by connecting with the customer & taking care of those that recommend the business to others .
