Window World - Installation Review from Fresno, California

Fresno, Ca. Windows are sold to the business convenience and not what's best for the customers: they are cheaply made and contracted installation service sucks.

We wanted hung windows and salesman pushed for sliding vertical. Come to find out those are standard for the company, so anything else is special order. Company requested we remove all window covers and furniture away from walls. Since, I've learned other companies do that for their custumers!

Windows were ready for installation: contractor came with his team of 2 additional men who were late, and said it would take then 4-5 hours. Two hours later the contractor took one the two workers to do a measuring of another job, leaving one worker to finish installation of 12 windows. It took 10 hour to finish the job. Ten hours that we were hostage in our own house.

By that time we were exausted and just wanted them out of the house. We even had to provide products for window cleaning!!! In the following days the plastic treaming of the windows began to separate. Also, a part was not shipped withthe windows. We had to call the contractor to ask about the part and to discussed the vinal trimming problem.

The contractor said he would send a worker in a week: the evening before the worker was supposed to come to fix the problems we got a message the contractor needed to reschefuled because of another job!!!! What an insult!!! Bottom line: windows are cheaply made (visual and performance) and customer service SUCKS! I dont recommend this product, their salesman and certainly NOT THE INSTALLATION CONTRACTOR.

Maybe he is bitting more than he can chew and customers pay for it. Save money, time and aggravation- look somewhere else other than Window World.

Extremely Poor Service

This was the first time I have used this company to replace 1 window pane. Long story short, this was the worst experience ever!! Well, I guess it would have been a good experience, if it wasn't for the service guys getting 2 flat tires, showing up late for appointments, showing up with the "wrong" size window...TWICE! I guess it would have a wonderful experience. Don't waste your time with this company. Find someone who will take your money and delivery good service the first time. These people wasted not only 1 of my Saturdays but two and all I got was I'm sorry.

A friend of ours bought windows from a company, only to find out they were out of business a few years later, so when he had issues he was stuck. He recommended we do our homework since he didn't, and he had to pay for having more than $3,000 in seal failures replaced by a glass company since the company was out of business.

We have 22 of their windows and they are great! The World of Windows salesman was knowledgeable, and he told us that since they are a franchise, one of over 200 across the country, that there would always be someone to take care of any warranty issues. Also, the World of Windows price was half the price of the two other window competitors that quoted our project. Two of the other competitors that came to our home we had to threaten to call the police to get them to leave after 3 long hours of their presentation followed by them trying to pressure us to sign their contract!

The work was completed by World of Windows on-time, and as promised. We have even had a seal failure in a window where it fogged up between the glass, which was fixed under warranty at no charge to us. Thanks for the recommendation from our friend Gregg to do our homework. The warranty will even transfer to someone else, if we ever sell our house.

What a great value. I don't know why you would buy windows from any other company, when these windows are so great and affordable. You could buy them twice from Window World, or World of Windows as they have to go by in Charlotte, for what the competitors charge. Our energy bills have gone down, and we only need blinds for privacy now.

You can barely feel the suns energy through the windows at the hottest time of the afternoon.

I usually don't read the b.s. that people put up here, but I saw this comment, and it is so different from our experience with them I had to say something. I guess flat tires do happen, as I have seen a few people broken down with them on the highway.

All I can say it they did a great job for us, and I would highly recommend them. I guess sometimes things go wrong, it isn't a perfect World after all, but it looks like they resolved your issue in the end, and you got an apology.

I called in December 2013 to get a sun porch window replaced that is suppose to have a lifetime warranty . I had to call again in February 2014.

Window is finally replaced May 7 but it is defected. The employee said he would report it & it would be about a week . Called yesterday ( June) & manager is never available to talk to me. My husband called (today) & she said it was on order & it should be in the next week or 2 .

( spoke of rain . What has rain got to do with putting windows on a truck and shipping them here ?) Same old blah , blah , I've heard since February.

My windows have been paid for so it's let's move on to next customer . Need better customer service by connecting with the customer & taking care of those that recommend the business to others .

Wrong window, no response

I am so disappointed in the service we have received from Window World. We ordered replacement windows and a replacement sliding door from Bill on 3/15. The installation was on 4/14. The crew who was supposed to show around 10am ended up at our house to start installing at 4pm. One of our windows was ordered incorrectly by Bill (salesman) so they cut the window they had up and jammed it in the opening. We were told that a rush order would be put on the replacement window and we would have it in 2 weeks. After the rest of the windows were installed the crew left at about 10pm. The next day I look at the windows and my window sills are torn up, caulk isn't even filled in properly around them, they completely forgot to caulk one window (and left a drop cloth), and there's an exposed screw where they drilled through the frame. I called Aaron Fults (field supervisor) the next day to explain the issues, he said that he would get someone back out the following day. The crew member shows up finishes the job from the initial repair and tells my husband they're not responsible for fixing the window sills! I talked with Aaron Fults again on 5/15 inquiring about the replace my window we were supposed to receive. Aaron tells me he will look into it and call me the following day. No response. Aaron finally calls me on 5/21 and leaves me a voicemail that they have the window and need to set up installation date. That was 2 weeks ago today. My husband and I have both called multiple times to try and set up a date for installation with no response. My husband called the corporate office to advise of the situation, their response was: " we'll call the local store". Still no idea when we'll get our window installed. I hate to resort to social media, but, I feel there is no other outlet at this point. We bought this house on 3/12 and knew we wanted to update our windows. I would like to have a house warming party but we have a window that is cut up and looks awful in our kitchen. How can this be resolved? Please advise.

My dad had this happen to him as well. I decided to try it myself and they messed everything up.

After they put the window in incorrectly, they wanted us to pay them. Waste of time and money!

Please call 866-740-**** and ask for Customer Relations. We will need the name on the contract and we will contact the owner of the franchise and ask them to call you. Thank you.

Seal failed on outside of window

Called them and they said a supervisor would call within 24 to 48 hours. They did not. Called them back after 3 days and they said someone will contact me ASAP. They have still have not. Called the Corporate office and left a message. Have heard nothing. I get the impression they do not want to come out and fix what they caused. I will submit my experience to the BBB. These people have no problem taking your money but god forbid if anything goes wrong then good luck getting any one to help. Advice. DO NOT DO BUISNESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. I like the windows but the customer service sucks big time.

Terrible service due to repeated no shows and no calls

I have had 4 no shows from Window World Nashville installers during the original installation period early in 2014 and 2 recently for a warranty problem. Their service manager even showed up to my front door once early on and told me that he was a reputable person and had a lot of integrity. That does not seem to hold true when it comes to servicing our purchase. Their subs just don't show up nor call when they miss appointments and management doesn't seem to care. When I contacted their General Manager directly he didn't even attempt to call me or follow up. Their product may be good, only time will tell, but their service is terrible. If you feel like being held hostage in your own home waiting on someone you're in the right place. If not, you will be better off calling the cable company or satellite provider. That may be less frustrating.

I ordered windows over nine weeks ago.....still no windows!!

I ordered windows the middle on April for a rental home I own. They were suppose to be installed mid May. I called back in mid May and was told windows should be by end of May. I called back end of May, I was told the windows were in but that they couldn't be installed until first week in June. We set up installation for June 3rd. I was called early that morning( first call ever made to me since order) and was informed three of the four windows were broken, asked if I still wanted the other two installed. I said yes. They called back and said one out of the two remaining windows were broken! I asked to speak to a supervisor she replied "Yes Ms. Lee they are windows...they break" had to order new windows. I was told I would be called and told when to ex spect windows. Went on vacation still no call. I cancelled my order today. Worst costumer service ever! I will not do business with them again.

Bait & Switch

We recently got a bid form WW to replace 38 windows based upon the advertised $249 low-e published rate. By the time the salesman got through with all of the "add-ons" for things like $30/window for removing your old window (who replaces windows without taking the old ones out?), $32 for beige vs white (clearly a ripoff), $100 Administrative Fee (talk about abusive pricing), $100 for a 2nd story fee, and on and on we ended up at $461 / window.

You can buy a REAL QUALITY window from Pella or Anderson for that price through the myriads of sales agents selling for them. Does "ripoff" mean anything here?

They do change the price look at the advertising everywhere for Window World they are so famous for the $189.00. Take a look at the window world contract it don't even have a 189.00 window on it.

It's just a bad company if they can get on TV & not be honest that shows you what kind of company they really are. At least the store in West Virginia St.Albans.

I usually don't read this ***, but Google sent me here by mistake today. I want to share my opion with you since you chose to share yours with everyone.

So to all you pathetic people that have been pissed on by life for years here goes... I guess you go to buy a car and buy the base model. Because you wouldn't want to pay extra for cruise control, power windows, air conditioning, or a special color? I am sure the dealership is going to provide that for free because you wanted it, but were just too tight, or *** to understand you have to pay for it.

If you wanted a base model at a base model price, you should have bought a base model. I feel sorry for people that have to deal with your ignorance in any situation. Hers your sign "you can't fix ***". Have a nice day.

How exactly would you advertise cars, baths, windows, doors, or about any item that is custom ordered for everyone's varying situation?

Buying about anything anymore is like buying a car you choose your options, and pay for them, or don't get them if you don't want to pay for them. You are probably the same guy that was at our dealership last week looking for something at a nothing price.

IT'S CALLED BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES. THE PROBLEM ADVERTISE WHAT YOU SELL.

EVEN SUPERMARKETS ADVERTISE FOOD AT HIGHER PRICES AND TELL IT LIKE ITS IS. UNFORTUNATELY PEOPLE IN THIS BUSINESS ARE CROOKS.

Guest

The other person is right. Thats not a bait and switch.

That would be where they sold you one window but showed up with another. The base price is for a basic install. If you want extras you have to pay for them. Its impossible to cover all install situations with a generic price.

I'm anonymous because I'll never be on this site again.

If you think Window World is bad you have obviously not shopped around. They are....simply the best for less (;

Guest

That's not a bait and switch. That is called a quote you don't like.

The response sounds like someone from their office who does not want to be named that's why they posted as Anonymous.

Don't go with this company their service is terrible. I have placed at least 4 calls to them and have been waiting 2 weeks just to get a call back concerning a replacement window.

Window World - Window Review from New Orleans, Louisiana

I had windows installed and shortly after, my windows started to leak. Rain poured into my bedroom and kitchen ruining floors and window treatments. I spoke with several supervisors for three who all gave me the same story but still no one has come out to repair or replace my windows. They have absolutely NO integrity, they do substandard work and will promise you anything to get off of the phone. I wouldn't recommend window world to anyone. Their prices may be reasonable and inexpensive but all the money that you save, you will spend replacing floors and window treatments. Sad but true. New Orleans, LA.

Horrible sales experience

I have owned my home now for about 10 years. Built in 1963 it came with the original wood windows. When i bought the home i knew it needed new more energy effiencient windows. So i started shopping, doing my research on internet and invited several companies out to my home to give me a free estimate. Out of 4 companies all but 1 didn't spend 3 hours with me. Window World of Harford only took about 45 minutes. That was the only good part about them. Louis was my sales rep; very nice guy; straight and to the point. Knew what he was talking about; no pressure. However the fun stops there.

Time to do the install. I am not trying to discriminate about companies who hire people covered in tattoos and piercings but when i asked a simple question about the installers " do they work for you? or are they sub contracted out. This is where i was lied to.

Asking the installer how long he worked for Window World and he told me 7 years. Lie number 1; asked him how long he been installing windows 10 years; lie number 2, asked him if he was contracted, licensed bonded and insured. He said yes. Asked him to see his license; he wouldn't show it to me.

Overall very happy with the windows, price and i hope Louis wasn't lying about the warranty. But if i could make one suggestion don't hire people who are going to lie about their credentials and how long they have been working in the industry. People who hire outsiders to do work on their home are not always so dumb. They might just not have the time to do the work themselves.

Thank you Concerned customer in Harford County.

My name is John Goldbeck, my wife and I own Window World of Harford. I am glad that you were happy with our salesman and our sales process.

We believe in not playing the games that so many companies do. In your paperwork you will find our warranty page. Our windows are backed by one of the best warranties in the industry. I am, however, a bit concerned with your comments about one of our install crews.

The one crew that you apparently had is a very good, hard working team. We get compliments from many of their install customers. The crew leader has been in the construction industry for many years since his father used to own a construction company. He has been with Window World for the past several years.

Our installers are handled on payroll as 1099 so they are technically sub contractors but they work exclusively for us. All of their papers are on file at the office and we will supply our customers with them upon request. I have been in the home improvement industry for over 20 years and have been a licensed contractor for 14 years, I don't ever think I have carried my card.

If you would like to call our office to discuss any concerns, please feel free to do so. We would be more than happy to help you.

Unprofessional Employee Review

Window World said they were coming to measure from 11 to 1. Didn't show didn't call. Representative showed up 1/2 hr late. Smelled of cigarettes with a strong hint of beer. Barely held tape steady enough to make measurements before leaving without explanation for lateness.

Broken windows/ wrong sash

We ordered 3 windows in December. The 3rd week in January we had the install date- Saturday when the install was to be done I sat here half the day only for the installer to call and say the weather was too bad to make it and he would be there the next day. I understand weather but when it was snowing Friday night he should have called to reschedule then instead of making us wait an entire day. So Sunday( the next day) he was to be here at 11:00. As of 1:00 still no word so I called him to find out he had left my windows loaded on his truck during the night and they broke in the weather and he would call 1st thing Monday morning to put a rush on new windows. Put a call in to the office 1st thing Monday morning to find out he never called, they put a rush on my new order and was told I would hear from the general office manager at the beginning of the week bc they were in FL. at the window world conference. No call from the general manager and that was 2 weeks ago. Fast forward to TODAY - my windows were to be installed at 11:30 today. Just got a call from the installer that the manufacturer sent the wrong sashes to go with my windows and they have to order them again. Hung up on him in mid- converstion, called the branch that our order was through and told them to cancel my order and I want my money back. Well now i'm on a fight to get my money back bc they can't do that and I have to speak to the general manager and she isn't in until later today. So after 2 months, them with my $400 and moving my furniture and taking my curtains down 2x i'm still sitting with my drafty old windows in the middle of winter.

I'm dealing with the same thing right now. I got the call the day before installation that they broke a window on Thursday Feb 6th and would rush order another and call me Monday Feb 10th, it's now Saturday Feb 15th and after leaving several irritated messages no one has gotten back to me.

By the way, I ordered my windows in October!!!! :(

Leaky windows trash cigarette butts faulty door installation Marshville NC

Had window world install 18 windows two doors and they didn't put the handles on the doors didn't pick up any trash I'm disable and when they saw that the team took advantage of me. The doors where in crocked called for 3 months never nothing from them my advice get a real company to do you're work. They just don't care!!! The salesman will say anything it takes. The subs they sent where using the bathroom in my yard in view of my wife and daughter and smoking pot as they worked. They said the company didn't mind since the job was so easy. I talked to 3 people at the Mooresville office and the last thing Mitch the salesman said was that he will get my doors and windows right and never talked to anyone again. They avoided my calls from then on. After 3 months of hassle I hired a descent person from lowes to fix everything.
