Window World Sacramento is a rip Off!!!

I saw a ad for windows at $189 installed (minimum 3 windows) I called the local Window World franchise, it took them three months and numerous calls to finally get a ready. I had three windows I needed for a rental property, after the three months and numerous calls they quoted me $1280.00 for the three windows.

When I told them that I wanted the $189 window, they were not available any longer, the installtion "always" was a charge ect - ect - ect.

These guys should be investigated, this is "bait and swith" in its most basic form. Do not do business with these *** bags.

Jason Pickes works for Window World, trying to cover up these lying cheaters. Sacramento Window World sucks.

Guest

Jason Pickes, you're a shill, and an incompetent one at that. Come back when you've learned how to shill properly. Lying shill ***.

Guest

This *** doesn't know what he's talking about, I personally have purchased over 70 windows this year alone for my rentals and all of them were the 189 window. He is obviously not telling the whole story. If you're going to complain try telling the entire story, ***

Window World low balling

I was pleased with the installation of my windows, however, I was told three different times there would be no hidden costs.. Hense I now am the proud owner of 11 new windows, Great on the inside Unfinished on the outside...It seems wrapping is required to the tune of $65.00 per window. Why was I not informed of this by the salesman? Apparently this technique is known as low balling. Very effective as I am right where they want me to be. I was told by Gail, the recetionest her boss would get back to me. That has been going on two weeks and no word. Guess they have their money so no need to talk to me now..

Installation costs vary based on the wall material. The windows of my house that had siding cost more than the ones that went in brick, concrete. Of course you have more that are in siding.

Guest

I am in the process of having 13 installed, just ordered them yesterday....The finish trim on the outside was included in the first estimate, and should have been figured in by your salesman, sounds like he tried to take advantage of you, mine figures at $57 each?

Poor installation practices

I was a installer for window world and discovered some interesting things about our local branch. For starters window worlds across the country are privately owned and operated. They pay sub standard installation prices which is why they have so many complaints about installation. They often miss classify worker as subcontractors when they are in fact employees. They claim to have windows for $189 and the fact is I don't recall ever installing one. They often had windows that where miss measured and would want me to make them work.Costumer service was poor and they expect you to lie for them.Fact is if you really think hard about it what do you think your getting when they advertise such bull. My advise to all would be look else where.

That usually cuaess 1 slot to be dead. It wasn't a issue of the cover breaking a slot.

It was a vibration issue. The slots didn't have enough reenforcement. This looks like a irq issue. I would suggest loading bios defaults.

All PCI slots should have irq 11. Don't know why but I was having the same issue when I set the slots to auto instead of irq 11.

Certainly no honesty in this company from product to installations to customer service. Called for their prices & ended up with $424.24 for each window and look different from replica shown when sale is done!

They said people to install with no ID & no verification that they are from the company.

Needless to say the management of the local branch is not truthful about their appointments & returning calls! for mer it was a BAD EXPERIENCE!

Guest

I made 4 appointments with window world and each and every time, they cancelled on me. they would give me a scheduled appointment and at the last minute they would call with a lame excuse as to why they can't make it.

I finally came to my senses and went with someone else.

Thank God I did. very poor customer relations.

Window World Installers

Windows are very good made by Allside. Intsallers were very poor. Showed up but wanted to start the next day so they could all go motorcycle riding(what) Did a very bad job. I also ordered a patio door. They brought one from a storage place with cob webs and caulk all over the seems(what). Talked to the owner and made him look at the junk work. He made the crew do the job correct but the door was put in and never replaced. They are window installers not window washers(what) Left my house with dirty windows and a junk door. Be very careful when you use this company.

Window World- damaged

I had decided to go with Window World-Baton Rouge to replace 24 windows in my home in Metairie, La. The sales person told me that ALL I needed to do to prep the areas was to remove curtains and move furniture.

He told me they load the truck around 7:30-8am and would arrive before 10 am. The contractor who helps our family came to be on site to help watch these men and to check for any issues he may need to assist in. I had the alarm company scheduled to come before noon to be there most of the time to help with any alarm system issues and reconnect each window. The men were 6 HOURS LATE..after numerous calls to Baton Rouge office I spoke to manager Robert..he said they would be there no later than 12:30....they arrived by 2:30.

Besides making mess and shattering glass into carport area next to my car...they have TOTALLY RUINED MY HOME ALARM SYSTEM..they claim they are not liable. UNREAL. The alarm men were to be there but had to reschedule to come the next day since WW was 6 hours late for installation. They ripped and tore wires in window areas and totally ruined ALL 24 window alarm contacts by prying them off the windows.

My contractor and myself were ON SITE to assist in removal....and one of the brazilian men pulled a custom curtain down AFTER I offered to stand there and hold it completely out of the way. UNREAL.......the alarm people say it will be almost $70 per window to install wireless now since they cut/ruined wires that were embedded in window areas.......HORRIBLE SERVICE........DON'T USE THEM!!!

Window World Of Alexandria Satisfies

I had complained about Window World of Alexandria but I am very pleased to say that they have satisfied all of my issues. As soon as the corrected windows arrived, we received a call from the office of Window world of Alexandria to reschedule the install. The installers arrived on time, installed the windows in a professional manner and we discussed my past issues. We and the installers were satisfied that we were happy with their work. The windows are a great product and the installers are very friendly. Mr Davis made sure that we were satisfied with the project.

have been trying to contact window world of cheetowaga, NY (buffalo area) for 3 weeks to GIVE THEM MONEY for three separate jobs and can not get a call back! it is apparent that they are totally inept and if you are expecting any form of communication with a company you deal with, they are certainly not the right choice. going to try a different company today and see if i get somewhere but my dealing with buffalo area companies has been less then stellar. think too many hot wings at night and can't move in the A.M

Not TRUE is exactly right

These windows come out of a warehouse in NC. "Custom Made" to fit your particular home.... BS... & HIGH pressure BS at that.

And don't expect any $189 windows. Our $189 windows ended up being near $500 each... Needless to say WW did not install any windows here.

Guest

ww does not make any windows they use alside windows and alside puts there ww sticker on the windows so yes thise post is fake they dont make there windows

What's up with these WW shills? Firstly, they're ALL OVER this forum (think about that for a minute), furthermore, They're utterly incompetent at shilling.

Holy ***, when every one of your "legitimate" posts scream "I'M A SHILL, I'M A SHILL, THIS IS ME SHILLING!!!!!!!!", you should prolly try to find someone who at least doesn't come-off as a complete shill. Shill.

Todd Whitworth CEO of Window World dies of a drug and alcohol overdose.

Updated by user Mar 06, 2011

Todd Whitworth death was listed my the North Carolina Medical Examiners office as a suicide.

Original review Feb 04, 2011
Todd Whitworth CEO of Window World (son of founder Leon Whitworth) died of a drug an alcohol overdose according to the North Carolina Medical Examiners office and autopsy. This was not made public and you cannot find his cause of death anywhere on the web.

I had to write to the NC medical examineers office for a report. Is Window World afraid it woud tar their image? As a company that uses the image of St.

Judes hospital and Ms. Ireland, it is no surprise they would not want this to be known and take any chance of losing business.

I was just watching it program about how Windows World hires so many veterans and how they use their corporate jet to help other veterans get to medical appointments or for whatever their needs are. I noticed in the video when Tammy got on the plane that there was a hand-painted sign next to the door that read dedicated to the memory of Todd Whitworth.

I became curious and Googled research to find out who Todd Whitman was and my first shock was to see he was 40 years old when he passed away that's very young. When the article said he passed away at home suddenly that spikes anyone's curiosity what happened get this man fall off the ladder did he overdose did he commit suicide? These are natural questions that come to people's mind when you read about a death of a young person and no cause of death is listed. Obviously that prompted additional research from me to see why this young man died.

When I saw alcohol and drug overdose my immediate thought was accidental when I saw the medical examiner's report stated suicide my first contemplation was how did they know it was suicide and not accidental.

Please don't blast people for their curiosity. It's very natural when a young person passes away unexpectedly and no reason or cause of death is given people naturally wonder what happened.

Guest

Todd had issues with stuff as do a lot of people, but he just found out that his wife was having another affair this time with their copilot for their private jet.

I wanna be single mom with a private jet & mansion & horses & get a company get a company worth millions.

& days before Todd passed didn't wasn't he changing will & filing for divorce & then ends up passsing away right after he starts paperwork to file divorce. ?!!

For anyone to say that Tammy was never a businesswoman is to admit that you do not know her. Todd and Tammy owned a Window World franchise before they went to work for the corporate office. As for what could make a person do what Todd "supposedly" did is moot.

There are many high ranking corporate officers in the world who, unfortunately, use drugs and alcohol.

I'm not saying that I agree with that but unless you have walked in their shoes, Do Not Judge Them. Remember, people in glass houses should not throw stones and we ALL live in glass houses..

Beware of cut vinyl windows from window world of the queen city

i have to warn people what window world of the queen city is doing with their windows. i have installed many,,many windows for window world in the cincy/norhtern KY area that i would NEVER put in my house. was told to do this(or we were fired and they would find someone to make them fit) BEHIND the customers back so they didn't see what we were doing. if a sales rep mismeasured a window ( or in some cases,,,the ENTIRE house, yes,,,i have cut an ENTIRE house of windows(15) to make them fit) in stead of returning it and ordering one to fit the right way, they would have us rough cut the window on the jobsite. sometimes taking off as much as 1 3/4 inches. now,,,as an installer for nearly 17 years,,,i have NEVER came across a company that did this,,until window world. you can only imagine what kinda problems might arise if you cut a vinyl window down to about nothing,,,just to make it fit and collect you money. good luck trying to get ahold of the manager at this store also,,,he likes to go to the gym and check out facebook during the day. many times i and the customers needed to find him,,,and found out (from the office girl) he was at the gym or on facebook. they also put people in charge that have NEVER installed a window before . make sense ? not to me. bottom line,,,this company is very sneaky in that they will put a product in YOUR house that they wouldn't put in their own house. nothing but a headache to deal with this company. call backs,,,extra costs,,,,no one to talk to ,,,and cutting your windows if they were measured wrong. call at your own risk

ha,,ha,,ha,,, ya right... you guys go ahead and keep cutting windows your sales reps cant measure right and see what happens in the future.your gonna have lots of windows to replace for free.

because if the factory makes them,(to the measurements given), then the frame of the window is insulated..if you cut the frame,,now you sold a window that is not what you told the homeowner they were getting. and do you think the factory(who made the windows correctly)is gonna remake them for free?

dont think so. homeowners beware

Guest

Window World carries a lifetime warranty. If a customer has issues with windows, they simply call to correct the problem.

This warranty includes craftmanship. Seems to me there are a few installers that couldn't meet Window Worlds standards and got canned.

Guest

hate to hear that. its so easy to the job the right way with windows.

but they do not worry about quality. lucky that's all you had to have shaved off. i have seen a lot more cut off windows. your best bet would be to complain to corporate.

don't know how much that will help ya tho.i wrote them a few page letter telling them what was going on at this window world in Cincinnati.everyone is connected to the top tho.so words and info( on the cut windows) get pushed under the carpet.until people realize what they are getting when they call this company. nothing will change.all i can do is tell my side of how that store is run.

there are companies out there that do care about quality. i really hope people start looking closer at this company

Guest

Yes, window world of Peoria, Ill.also cut my window frames down because they were not measured correctly. No they did not use a flush trim router to remove the additional eighth inch needed- their "carpenter extraordinaire" used a free hand circular saw.

You can guess the lousy aesthetic result, poor fit and broad daylight visible gaps. Additionally to my horror, I went into one room during an installation and found a teenage doofus installer taking a hammer and prybar (ostensibly being used as a wood chisel) to trim back my 120 y.o. red birch window sill to make a window fit properly.I kid you not, he was swinging his hammer at the prybar on this beautifully crafted 1690 red birch window like he was chopping fire wood. Real ***.

Any reputable window installer will also plumb, level and shim windows to avoid future "racking_" and poor window alignment. I watched Window world of Peoria install all of my windows with the "shove it in the hole" technique, put a few screws in the the side pockets and spread liberally unpaintable silicone caulk in irregular lumps around the exterior window frame. Fast and sloppy is their game.

Hired an attorney, but the nuisance factor and dollar amounts vs. attorney fees too small to pursue.Good luck

im glad you had a good exp. with them.

i installed for them,,,so i know what goes on. they r very sneaky and do some unbelievable things to their windows. they will have problems with their windows they cut on the job site to make fit. sooner or later.

why do you think they come out to measure before ordering? so they can be put together at the joints properly,,,and sealed. now,,,when you miss measure a window,,,you re-order it so it fits. not with window world.

they tell you to go out of site of homeowner ,,cut it,,,and make it fit. so you are in turn cutting away the structure of the window sent from the factory. doesnt sound like a window i want in my house.

say what you want,,,but i believe people out there need to hear the bad,,,just like you told them you had a good exp. i would want to hear both sides before i decided.

Guest

I have noticed that someone with the "handle" installer 40 has been making completely false accusations about window world allover this site. This is so wrong and I hope that consumers are smart enough to get facts.

My windows from window world are awesome, three years in, this is the best home improvement we have ever done. We have done just about everything possible to our high end older home. The quality, price and people are top notch. This company is the real deal...

Clearly many are a bit envious of their success???!!! :) :)

Guest

ha,,ha,ha,,thats funny . dont think they would publish all my customers comments in the WW news letter if the were bad. try again

Guest

Looks like a *** poor installer that got canned for *** work to me! Quit grasping for straws.

Very typical. :cry

Guest

i am glad you had a good experience with them. and no,,im not a competitor.every company can says the same thing about the rest of them.

and cut throats are the name of this business,, doesnt matter what field of trade you are in(drywall,,carpentry,,,electrition,,roofer,,,etc...,,,if you want the job,,,you are obviously going to say your product and service is better. all im doing here is letting people know what was done with some windows,,,because sooner then later ,,they will start having trouble with them. if you have problems in the future with your windows,,,and come to find out they did things that were not supposed to be ,,that caused the prob,,,wouldnt you like to know? or be aware of it just incase?

im thinking the first prob they will have is warping.

because of how much was cut off the window,,,,the frame that was made to keep it from warping is GONE. just rememeber this complaint if you ever hear of something similar thru people or the news.

Welcome to the club of window world! I also had the same issue, replacement window install yesterday and it's the wrong window and damaged.

I will be reporting them to the BB and Attorney General's office in my state. They are a buck pushing off company, they lie like a rug and the consumer is the loser here.

I have seen many complaints about this company and wish I had known otherwise. The window still leaks and now I will need to replace 2 year old flooring in my unit.

Window World in Altoona PA is great!

We, on the other hand, had a wonderful experience with our local Window World franchise. We had nine windows replaced in our small home. Seven of them were $189 each; the other two were larger, odd sizes and cost a bit more. We were thrilled with the job they did.

They arrived on time on the scheduled date and finished the entire job in one day. Clean-up outside could have been a bit better, but they took away the old windows and most of the "mess" outside. Inside was perfect; you'd never know they had been there!

We've had to call them back twice for replacements. Last winter one of the smaller windows broke during the bitter cold. It was replaced at no cost to us.

The second time it was the large window in our kitchen; three sections and one of the smaller side windows cracked (again when it was very cold and windy). The first time they came to replace the window, the replacement was the wrong size. The crew remeasured and replaced the entire window, since that exact style had been discontinued.

I'd highly recommend them to anyone who needs windows!

Flaky Window World

Window World on Country Club Road in Indianapolis did not show up for our scheduled appointment on September 18,2010 between 9-11am. I did not get a call from the installer nor the companies office to tell me what was up on my day off.I was to have a defective picture window replaced.

Understand they installed a defective window during the initial installation. I called the office attendant and she said they scheduled too many jobs between 9-11am on Saturday the 18th. I called back at 12:00pm to get the number of the Owner. The office attendant told me the owner would call me but never did.

I will never refer this business to anyone! The BBB and Attorney Generals office will get a call first thing Monday Morning.

Dear Small Business Owner, aka: *** shill,

Ah, Ive got a simular complaint. I've been trying for (5) weeks now to get my 9' patio door installed correctly.

They had to reorder one of the parts and I have to call every week to find out they havnt even looked for the part yet. 5 WEEKS! I SPENT OVER $7200 for this part of my project and that was only phase 1. They do not respond when I call and will not proved the salemans contact info for me to try and get this worked out.

They don't deserve my business and wont get phase 2 for another $5200. If not resolved within the next week then it there will be attorneys involved and complaints to the AG's office.

Interesting how people will run to the BBB and the attorney general before even working things out first. That’s what’s wrong with this country.

It’s a Saturday and this guy assumes that the owners got the message and decided maliciously to ignore it. As a business owner myself I know that any owner wouldn’t purposely want this situation to have occurred. Obviously the installer let them down. Get over it.

It happens.

Give them a chance to rectify it first before running, crying to big brother, for goodness sakes. What happened to decent people giving others the benefit of the doubt and working it out first?

Window World of Sacramento is great!!

As an Operations Manager for a 80,000 sqft manufacturing facility I have had numerous occasions to contract with firms for various construction projects. In all of my years I am hard pressed to recall a company as dedicated and compliant as Window World of Sac. They have gone the extra mile in customer service and satisfaction. We had 9 sliding triple pane windows, 2 double-hung windows, a garden window and a large double sliding door installed as well as the installation of Alside Prodigy siding around the entire house. We cannot say enough about the quality of workmanship, work ethic, professionalism and just plain courtesy everyone involved in this project exhibited at all times. Bryon Goldberg (Company President) and Peter Weiss (Salesman) worked with us to fulfill our needs and expectations while managing to stay within our budget for both windows and siding. It was wonderful to deal with people who kept us and our vision in mind rather than the sale. The installation started on the date agreed on. Window installation was done first headed by Crew Leader Terry Allen. He and his partner did an exceptional job removing and installing all windows and the large doors. Terry insured everything was square and fit properly. He demonstrated all installed components and provided information on the care. All windows and the doors fit and operate flawlessly. Their removal and installation process was completed in two days. Window World of Sacramento worked with Vinyl Solutions for the installation of the Alside Prodigy siding. Again I cannot give enough praise for the job these folks performed. The crew was headed by Slavik Moroz who was relentless when it came to detail. His crew removed the old siding, wrapped all exterior exposed wood, installed soffit under the eaves, fiberboard on the frame, installed a moisture barrier and then the siding. the process took 8 days, no day was below 93 degrees. We are pleased with everything that was done. If you live in or near Sacramento I highly recommend that you use this company. They are great people.

Oh Johnny, you forgot to mention something here. All commercial buildings must by law in any state in the United States have permits pulled and a building inspector must inspect the windows.

It's a matter of public safety. Or in your exuberance you happened to over look that minor detail. Tell us all where your 80,000 square foot manufacturing facility is located so OSHA, the department of labor will know where to go to enforce the safety rules that are meant to protect your workers from dummies like you who cut corners and place their workers lives in jeopardy! California has it's share of earthquakes and fires, that Garden Window and Large Double Hung Window MUST BE TEMPERED!

Otherwise it can shatter and kill your workers! Mr.

Hotshot you are an ***, more concerned with your bonus at the end of the year than the lives of the people who work for you! :(

What a mess they left from the windows

My neighbor had her windows replaced by Window World in our Condo Complex in Ramsey NJ. The workers truck and equipment were in my reserved parking space when I arrived home from work. They were cutting sheet metal for the windows and there were metal scraps all over the lawn and parking space. When they finally left around 7pm my front lawn, walkway and parking space was a mess! They left 15" twisted sheet metal scraps for the kids to play with. There was caulking tops with wet caulk on the walkway. Pieces of screening that my kid picked up to play with and balls of tape and paper scraps blowing around in the parking lot. My complex has banned the company from doing any type of work in the future.
