  • - The windows delivered didn't match brochure image.
  • - The image is an idea, not a promise.
  • - Window World lacked honesty and integrity.

I ordered windows from Window World based on an image in their brochure, as instructed by the sales rep, but what I received didn't look anything like the image in the brochure. I received the ugliest windows I've ever seen.

When I mentioned that to the local Window World employees, I was told the image is meant to give you an idea of what your windows are going to look like. It doesn't mean the windows are going to look like what you order. When I said nobody mentioned that when I placed my order, I was told why would they? I guess they don't understand nor appreciate integrity or honesty.

I went through five different flooring companies when I renovated my stairs because the first four said they couldn't do my last stair. The fifth one could. The first four didn't say they could do it, give me something different, and then hope I didn't notice the difference. They understood honesty and integrity are important.

Window World made me feel like Clark Griswold at the car dealership in National Lampoon's Vacation. They said they could deliver, but once it arrived, it wasn't what he ordered. He told them to give him his old car back, but it was already destroyed. The exact experience I had with Window World.

If I purchase anything from any business in America, and I don't get what I want, I return it immediately.

Not the same with Window World. They got me.

User's recommendation: No problem if you don't care what your windows look like

Windows were installed in a house that i do not own.

AI Highlights
  • - I prepaid for windows, labor, removal, and disposal.
  • - I never received a call to schedule install; windows were installed after ex-wife pressure.
Window World - Windows were installed in a house that i do not own.

I bought and prepaid for windows (Included windows, labor, removal of old windows and disposal fee) to be installed in a house that my ex-wife and daughter were going to live. The house (Property) was not in my name.

I was told that i would receive a call to schedule the installation. During this time of waiting for the windows to arrive i decided that i would install the windows myself in a different house. I called both the the sales person and the office in Prestonsburg Kentucky and informed them i would be coming to pickup the windows. They said that i would have to come in person to the office, sign some papers to get a refund on the installation labor and the removal fee disposal fee.

Then i could take delivery of the windows.

So on 6/26/2025 i show up to pickup the windows and was informed that the windows had been installed.

I NEVER received a call from ANY person from Window World to schedule the install.

The person at window world yesterday said "The owner decided after receiving several pressured calls from the ex-wife to go ahead and install the windows".

The ex-wifes name was not on the order and i paid for the windows out of MY checking account. Her name was not included except for the warranty.

Loss:
$4300
Cons:
  • Installed my windows in a house that i do not own

Preferred solution: Full refund

User's recommendation: DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS OWNER, not sure about others. I will never purchase from any Window World dealer ever again!

There was no need to tell your wife anything about the windows. She should never have known where you purchased them.

How is that his fault in any way? Window world clearly did not take proper action regarding his project, installing it without scheduling it with the buyer? How is that even possible?

Please have someone from the HQ contact me. My local office does not reply to requests for contact.

Avoid WW. The middle Tennessee franchise is extremely unreliable. I've emailed and emailed. Only once did anyone get back to me.

Unfortunately, I could not take the call and told them I'd call back, and life went south for a couple of weeks. I again reached out via email and nothing.

Cons:
  • Product molding shrinks

Preferred solution: The warranty honored. I can't raise or lower my windows.

If you are not rich or well to do, do not contact Window World they will not be interested in your business

AI Highlights
  • - I requested a free estimate from Window World; none provided.
  • - The salesman was pleasant but did not provide an estimate and suggested a contractor.

I requested a free estimate from Window World, and they sent an older salesman out who seemed to be very nice. However, he did not even give me an estimate, which I would have to assume is because he did not think I could afford his company.

He suggested I might want a general contractor and not a window company.

How dare he assume that he knew better what I needed than to even give me the estimate I requested? So, if you have an older home and maybe you're a little older yourself, save yourself a headache and do not contact Window World.

Cons:
  • Only carrier about money not their customer

Preferred solution: To let other people know how unprofessional this company is

User's recommendation: I have no suggestions for future customers as I do not have my issues resolved yet

Waited forever then failed inspection

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Aug 9 order; half deposit cashed next day.
  • - 18 weeks wait with no updates; 14 windows installed in December; 4 failed city inspection for fasteners.

This is quite long, but you need the whole story. We wanted to like Window World, but we didn't. The price was decent, but that's as far as it went. We ordered our windows on August 9th and wrote a deposit check for half the amount, which they promptly cashed the next business day. We were told by our salesman that they were running about 6 to 8 weeks, but it could be 8 to 12 weeks. Seems a bit long, but okay. Then, we waited. We never heard a word. No communication whatsoever. So, at 8 weeks, we called and we were told it would, in fact, be more like 12 weeks. At 12 weeks no word still, so we called and the story changed to, 'No, we told you 12 to 16 weeks' (we were NOT told 12 to 16 weeks). But then, they couldn’t even get them at 16 weeks; it got pushed to 18! And not once during the 18 weeks did anyone from Window World reach out to us. We always had to contact them to try to find out what was going on. Keep in mind they had our deposit from day one.

If we thought we would be waiting 18 weeks for windows, we would never have ordered them. Meanwhile, we have three different neighbors around us having windows replaced. We stopped and asked, 'How long did you have to wait for your windows?'. Two had to wait 4 weeks and one had to wait 5 weeks yet we are waiting 18 weeks. We had to wait longer than the three of them COMBINED. That's beyond ridiculous.

Now it's mid/late-December (that's right, we started in early August), let's get to the installation. Once the windows finally came in, they agreed to come out the very next day. They sent two people to install 14 windows. It took them two days which isn't bad (Dec 18th/19th), but when they finished some of the windows were extremely hard to open and 4 windows failed city inspection for not having enough fasteners. They came back out and adjusted some of the windows and made the correction for the inspection failure on the morning of December 20th (they should have never left with the windows like that in the first place). They didn't pay for the reinspection when they found out about the failure. Instead, they waited until Monday (which is now December 23rd) and the inspectors are already booked for the day. The city is shutting down for Christmas Eve and Christmas day so now we have to wait until the 26th. And, to add insult to injury, Window World tells me, 'Give us a call next year and we will come and finish up putting in the plugs and caps after your final inspection. We are closing today (Dec 23rd) and won't reopen until after the 1st.”

Are you kidding me? After all this? We have been waiting since the first week of August now you're telling me to wait until next year because your windows failed inspection and you decided to wait to pay the fee?

On Jan 2nd, I drove to Window World to pay the remaining balance (I've always felt obligated to pay my bills even if the service is less than stellar). Once again, they cashed my check the very next day at 9am (I get text alerts on my phone when large amounts are withdrawn). Seems strange that a big company like that would need to rush down to the bank for money.

Oh, and by the way, for all you veterans out there. They claim to be veteran-friendly on their webpage and have a huge veteran initiative, but don't expect a military discount.

As for the actual windows, only time will tell. We got their series 4000 double hung insulated windows. They have the Energy Star certification marking on them rated for the southern states. But, until they have been through a few Florida winters and summers, we will reserve judgment. They do have a lifetime warranty (as most companies do) but, if it took 18 weeks to get the windows, how long will it take to get a replacement when/if one breaks?

Pros:
  • Came out quickly once the windows finally arrived
Cons:
  • Left without making sure windows opened properly
  • Failed inspection
  • Waited way too long for windows

User's recommendation: Be prepared to wait...and wait

Bad job and Terrible customer service

AI Highlights
  • - Contractor damaged wood siding during window install; installation took 2.5 months.
  • - Florida office never sent anyone; poor service and slow billing.

I had window world come in and replace my windows and their contractor messed up my wood siding installed a new windows and I was told it was my responsibility to fix around the windows. It took 2 1/2 months to install these windows and when I called the main office in Florida, they were never sent nobody out.

I still have windows. It doesnt work customer service there was terrible even called. The corporate office couldnt get much help.

I would not recommend win the world for Nothing. Took me four months to get a bill when I pay these people so if you stay in Florida, be careful bunch of crooks

I had two patio doors and one window installed by window world. The patio doors were installed by a professional installer, however when it came to the windows this was not the case. Window socks.

AI Highlights
  • - The window was poorly installed and not corrected after several visits.
  • - The window is unsanitary, leaks air, and forces me to buy another window.
Updated by user Mar 11, 2025

Nothing has happened. Window world has not made any attempt to resolve my problem.

Original review Feb 22, 2025

Terribly installed. The owner of window world came by on 3 occasions with no satisfaction.

He had another installer come by at least 4 more times and still no correction was made. The window is still unsanitary. Air come through as if the window was open.

My advice is do not use their windows they are cheaply made and do not stop cold air from coming in. I'm now forced to purchase another window from another supplier
